Due to certain project limitations, other designers on the team and I were unable to have direct contact with the target users a.k.a dealers in

this case. However, we had a representative of the company that provided us with insights into the customer’s challenges and requirements.


The Company Dealer


Third Party Dealer

He is a salesman at one of the Company’s machinery showrooms. He oversees the day-to-day

functioning of the store such as inventory management and customer interactions

Goals

• To fulfil the customer’s purchase and inquiry requests

• To complete the monthly sales targets

Tasks

• Logging into the company’s e-commerce portal

• Managing the inventory of the store

• Placing orders for customers on the web application

• Accepting/rejecting order requests from Third party dealers

Challenges

• Finding it difficult and time-consuming to access information regarding machine attachments

• Unable to fulfil customer or third-party dealer attachment order requests due to unavailability of stock

She is the manager of a Retail store that deals in construction machinery. She manages the store’s

inventory, assigns tasks to the salesmen and ensures smooth functioning of the business

Goal

• To oversee the day-to-day functioning of the dealership store

• To assist customers with product inquiries, purchases, and demonstrations

Tasks

• Logging into the e-commerce portal

• Managing the inventory of the store

• Placing order requests for showroom stock, and on behalf of the customers on the web application

Challenges

• Not being able to obtain information regarding machine attachments conveniently

• Not knowing enough information about machine attachments to

resolve customer queries or doubts effectively
